Help researchers identify patients more likely to respond to novel therapies

Very few novel medications for serious mental illnesses (SMIs) have been FDA-approved in the last 50+ years. Research suggests that conditions including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) arise from complex genetics, meaning a single diagnosis can encompass biologically distinct conditions. Because Phase-3 trials include all patients with a diagnosis, a drug’s efficacy may be obscured in the subgroup of responders. Our technology aims to identify responders before trials, helping these treatments succeed.

OUR APPROACH

Using EEG biomarkers to predict treatment response

EEG can reveal patterns of cortical dysfunction associated with serious mental illness. Rather than linking these patterns to genetic risk, we take a more direct approach: matching baseline EEG signatures to treatment response in Phase-2 clinical trials. AI enables us to identify these predictive patterns across the large volumes of data generated by multi-lead EEG recordings.
